Reliance Named as Finalist in the Enginuity Skills Awards 2025

Reliance Precision Limited (‘Reliance’) is pleased to announce it has been named as a finalist in the SME Employer Skills Champion category at the Enginuity Skills Awards 2025. The award is designed to recognise outstanding commitment by a small or medium employer (SME) to sustainable business improvement through the implementation of learning and development.
Reliance places a real emphasis on skills development, believing in sustainable business improvement through the learning and development of its people. The Reliance Precision Apprenticeship Scheme was introduced over sixty years ago to bring young, talented people into the business. The scheme allows the business to recruit and train the calibre of engineer it requires to produce precision components and sub-assemblies designed for critical applications. The company currently aims to take on 4 to 6 individuals each year. In their first year, apprentices are based in the company’s EAL recognised training facility which has been accredited by The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). At the company’s Huddersfield site, apprentices make up approximately 10% of the workforce and 34% of employees are current or former Reliance apprentices.
Enginuity is a charity dedicated to finding new ways to close skills gaps in UK engineering and manufacturing. They want to create a more productive sector at the forefront of designing, making, and maintaining the solutions to society’s greatest challenges. Each year, the Enginuity Skills Awards celebrates the teams and individuals who inspire and empower the next generation of talent in the engineering and manufacturing sector, fostering a culture of innovation, diversity, and collaboration.
