Neil Murthy, CEO, Strongfield, hosted the Minister’s visit and explains “Strongfield were honoured to be given such valuable time with the Minister of Defence, Rajnath Singh. Aero India is an important event, promoting new technologies and products in the aerospace and defence sectors, many of which contribute to the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. The Minister understood and appreciated our efforts to work with the Indian Government development organisations supporting critical programmes with Reliance’s high precision products. He acknowledged the specialist knowledge and technical capabilities developed by the business to manufacture intricate components to such high accuracy, high reliability and precision.”

Neil continues “Despite the global Covid situation and the subsequent restrictions surrounding the event, Aero India proved successful. Whilst visitor numbers were down on previous years, many of the attendees were looking for technologies and products to support specific applications and projects. We had the opportunity to spend time with both existing and potential customers, sharing recent developments within our product portfolio and learning about the different aerospace and defence programmes currently planned or underway.”

Reflecting on Reliance’s attendance with Strongfield at this year’s Aero India exhibition, Andy Butt, Reliance’s Business Manager – Aerospace Defence and Space, comments “Trade shows are a great way to showcase our capabilities and explain to customers how we support the ‘Make in India’ policy by helping solve their design, production or supply issues. With over 30 projects currently underway, the opportunity for Strongfield to be able to meet the majority of our customer base in one place is hugely beneficial.”
