This month, Reliance Precision Limited (‘Reliance’) employees have been taking part in Movember. Together, ‘Team Reliance’ have raised £2,742 but most importantly, they’ve helped to raise awareness across Reliance and the wider community.
Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health on a global scale, focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. The charity uses donations to deliver innovative, breakthrough research and support programmes that enable men to live happier, healthier and longer lives.
There are many ways to get involved, but it was the ‘Grow a Mo’ challenge – where participants are encouraged to grow a moustache – that caught the attention of the team. Team Reliance got together on the 30th of November for a follicular photoshoot. Daniel Mosley was crowned the winner of ‘best moustache’ and Tom Gibson was presented with the prize for most raised (an impressive £519!).

“Supporting men’s health and growing a tash! What’s not to like?! This Movember has been great, really bringing the team at Reliance together for a good cause and generated some laughs along the way. The money raised from Team Reliance is a fantastic effort from everyone involved but the most important thing for me is the discussions about men’s health having a tash promotes. The moustache gets people talking! And having witnessed friends and colleagues impacted by men’s health issues, it is great to see more men willing to open up about and seek help for the problems they face. Long may it continue and I’m sure Team Reliance will be back next year.”
