Reliance enhances specialist measurement and test facilities with new eco-friendly building
Measurement and testing have been a global niche speciality for Reliance Precision of Huddersfield, England for over 50 years.
Reliance’s exceptionally precise manufacturing expertise has always been backed up with ground breaking inspection techniques.
In order to build on this well established area of excellence, Reliance has enhanced its facilities with a new building to provide more space for design, development and testing. A new environmental test chamber has just been commissioned and additional test facilities will include non-destructive testing.
Reliance, works in partnership with its customers from diverse markets to design, manufacture and test precision components and intricate mechatronic assemblies for the aerospace, medical, high vacuum, defence and scientific instrument markets.
Reliance gets involved in projects which need to have, high accuracy, high reliability and high integrity. The ability to test products is vital both to ensure products meet the customers’ ultimate objectives and to predict product performance in service.
The new building not only provides a comfortable ‘green’ working environment for Reliance employees but the improved facilities will also help customers achieve low lead time to market with new products.
Reliance has an underlying policy of long-term, high investment and a commitment to responsibly managing the environmental impact of its operations.
One of a new generation of low carbon buildings with minimum running costs and low carbon emissions, the new building has a very efficient heating system. Warm or cool air is relocated on demand and any surplus energy is retained in a thermal store embedded in the building.
Reliance was very proud to be awarded certification to the new environmental management standard ISO 14001:2004 in May 2005.
