The Reliance Cool Motion Stage Assembly
The Reliance Cool Motion Stage is a truly intelligent new linear package from Reliance Precision Mechatronics LLP.
The RCMS is a compact linear motion assembly capable of linear speeds up to 1.2m per second. The stage is ideal for applications where intelligent, compact, integrated design is required.
Driven by a precision rolled anti-backlash leadscrew the RCMS provides high linear accuracy, reliability, good torsional stiffness and stability relative to its compact size.
Employing a closed loop drive system it has a fully programmable 32bit RISC CPU, 50,000 count magnetic encoder, vector drive, amplifier, H-infinity tuner and on-board power management. The combination of the on-board power management, vector drive and high resolution encoder ensures smooth, cool motor operation.
The Reliance Cool Muscle motor on the stage can be easily programmed to network with other Reliance Cool Muscle motors providing a cost and space saving solution to system synchronisation. Networks can provide simultaneous and/or co-ordinated motion linking up to 15 motors on RS232 or 3825motors on RS485. The RCMS system can be configured to use software limit and/or a home search technique using a hard stop/bumper, eliminating the need for limit switches.
The intelligent, compact, high speed design is ideal for multi-axis positioning systems, high speed linear positioning systems and applications which require total motion control.
