Reliance announces ISO14001:2004 certification.
Reliance Precision Limited, is a fully integrated, mechatronics company supplying high accuracy electro-mechanical assemblies for instrumentation and light actuation applications.
Sitting on the edge of open countryside, close to the Pennines, Reliance has always been aware of the effect it has on the environment and is committed to responsibly managing the environmental impact of its operations.
Reliance is therefore very pleased to announce its ISO 14001:2004 certification. A clean culture is one of Reliance’s underlying strengths. The company specialises in the manufacture, measurement and test of sub-micron machined components for high vacuum applications and precise mechatronic assemblies for the aerospace, medical and scientific industries. To meet the requirements of these industries Reliance manufactures ultra precise components which undergo very stringent cleaning procedures in house, prior to assembly in Reliance’s temperature controlled clean rooms.
An environmental policy ensures that all processes are regularly reviewed to monitor environmental impact and sets objectives for continual improvements in environmental performance. Specific targets include reducing land fill waste and the amount of electricity used.
Reliance has the latest computer based high speed, multi axis machining facilities, design engineers communicate their designs using the latest 3D modelling software and a 3D printer enables the company to create rapid prototype models in Acrylic Photopolymer directly from CAD models. Reliance has invested in these technologies as part of a ‘right first time’, minimal waste policy. These facilities not only reduce lead times and ensure a cost effective service for customers but also minimise raw material waste and energy consumption.
Achieving ISO 14001:2004 certification is external recognition that Reliance’s environmental policies comply with current legislation and confirmation that Reliance is dedicated to a ‘green policy’ work place.
